Everything you need to know about ReadiCare ARC and the ReadiCare ARC Framework.
The ReadiCare ARC Framework
The ReadiCare ARC Framework is a published, weighted assessment framework designed specifically for Australian aged care. It consists of 7 pillars that assess your facility across every dimension of readiness — not just regulatory compliance. Four pillars map directly to the Strengthened Quality Standards. Three pillars cover operational dimensions that the standards don't address: financial sustainability, reputation and star performance, and digital and data maturity.
The 7 pillars of the ReadiCare ARC Framework are: • Standards Conformance — covers clinical care, resident rights, care planning, environment, food and nutrition, residential community. • Workforce Capability — care minutes, staffing, training, qualifications, screening, staff wellbeing. • Governance & Leadership — governing body obligations, clinical governance, risk management, complaints, compliance culture. • Risk & Incident Management — SIRS framework, incident response, investigation, restrictive practices, open disclosure. • Financial Sustainability — AN-ACC optimisation, ACFR readiness, co-contributions, accommodation pricing, financial planning. • Reputation & Star Performance — star ratings, resident experience, quality measures, compliance confidence. • Digital & Data Maturity — care documentation systems, reporting and analytics, cybersecurity, digital strategy. Each pillar carries a specific weight reflecting its importance to overall readiness. The weights are published and transparent — not a hidden algorithm.
The Strengthened Quality Standards are the regulatory framework set by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. Every residential aged care provider is assessed against them. They cover care quality, governance, workforce, environment, clinical care, food and nutrition, and the residential community. The ReadiCare ARC Framework is our proprietary assessment framework. It covers all 7 of those standards — our first four pillars map to all 7 standards across 24 assessed outcomes. But it goes further. Three additional pillars assess financial sustainability, reputation and star performance, and digital maturity. These are the operational dimensions that determine whether a facility thrives long-term, not just whether it passes the next audit. In short: the standards tell you what the regulator expects. The ReadiCare ARC Framework tells you whether your whole organisation is ready.
Because a facility can meet every quality standard and still be at risk. Financial pressure leads to staffing cuts. Declining star ratings affect occupancy and revenue. Poor digital systems create reporting errors and compliance gaps. These operational dimensions directly affect your ability to sustain quality care over time. The ReadiCare ARC Framework assesses them because comprehensive readiness demands it.
The Strengthened Quality Standards contain 36 outcome items across the 7 standards. ReadiCare ARC's 117 questions have primary coverage across 24 of these. Many of the remaining outcomes are assessed as secondary dimensions within existing questions — for example, dignity and privacy is tested as a secondary element across multiple person-centred care questions. Others, including cognitive impairment and comprehensive care, are priorities for deeper coverage in upcoming releases. The framework is designed to expand — we're actively developing additional questions based on provider feedback and regulatory guidance to increase outcome coverage with each release.
No. ReadiCare ARC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission or the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. The ReadiCare ARC Framework is a proprietary assessment tool developed by Barton Care to help providers prepare for the Strengthened Quality Standards and manage broader operational readiness.
The Product
ReadiCare ARC is an AI-powered aged care readiness platform built on the ReadiCare ARC Framework. Powered by AI and backed by real-world aged care governance experience, it helps facility managers, general managers, quality and compliance managers, and boards assess their facility's readiness, generate governance reports, prepare for audits, and stay ahead of regulatory change. It's built specifically for Australian residential aged care.
You answer 117 questions across the 7 pillars of the ReadiCare ARC Framework. Each question is mapped to a specific outcome within the Strengthened Quality Standards or to an operational dimension. The assessment takes about 30 minutes. You receive an instant readiness score with traffic-light ratings per pillar, showing exactly where your facility stands and where the gaps are.
The AI analyses your specific scores and generates prioritised recommendations mapped to the standard outcomes and operational areas where your facility scored lowest. Recommendations are ranked by regulatory and operational risk so you know where your time will have the most impact. The AI is powered by advanced language models but backed by real-world aged care governance experience built into the system's logic. You always see the reasoning behind each recommendation.
When something changes at your facility — new hires, completed training, updated policies — you don't need to go through the 117 questions again. Describe the changes in plain English. The AI identifies which questions are affected, suggests updated scores, and you review and approve every change before it's saved. Takes about 5 minutes instead of repeating the full assessment.
One-click PDF reports formatted for your board or governing body. Each report includes your compliance position, a risk assessment with ratings, recommended board resolutions, management actions with deadlines, and a Standards Coverage matrix showing exactly which outcomes your facility has been assessed against. The report uses formal governance language and references specific Aged Care Act 2024 obligations.
When you need to prepare for an ACQSC audit — announced or unannounced — ReadiCare ARC generates a complete preparation pack in under a minute. It includes a prioritised task list based on your weakest scoring areas, not a generic checklist. Role-specific mock assessor questions are written for Facility Managers, DONs, RNs, and PCAs separately, so your team is prepared for exactly the questions they'll face. We're continuously deepening the personalisation of audit preparation — future releases will incorporate facility-specific documentation to make mock questions and evidence packs even more tailored to your specific policies and procedures.
Regulatory Radar monitors aged care regulatory changes — new guidance, rule changes, compliance announcements — and surfaces them to your team. Essentials users see what changed with severity ratings and affected standards. Premium users also get personalised impact analysis specific to their facility's data, plus actionable recommendations telling them exactly what to do about each change.
Before you invest in hiring more RNs, upgrading your incident management system, or making any operational change, What-If modelling lets you project the impact on your readiness score. See how your scores would change across all 7 pillars, then generate a board-ready business case showing the projected return on investment — all before spending a dollar.
Log your weekly care minutes and see where you stand against the mandatory 200/40 targets. Traffic-light alerts show compliance status at a glance. Premium adds longer-term trend analysis, AI-generated projections, and export functionality for quarterly financial reporting.
QFR report generation is on our development roadmap. Currently, Care Minutes tracking provides weekly data entry with trend analysis and compliance alerts against the 200/40 mandatory targets. Full QFR export functionality is planned for a future release.

Scope & Applicability
ReadiCare ARC is currently designed for residential aged care providers (Category 6 under the Aged Care Act 2024). The assessment questions, standards mapping, and operational pillars are built for the residential context. Support for home care and Support at Home providers is on our roadmap.
ReadiCare ARC assesses aged care readiness against the Strengthened Quality Standards and operational dimensions. It does not currently cover NDIS Practice Standards. If your organisation delivers both aged care and NDIS services, ReadiCare ARC covers the aged care side. NDIS readiness assessment is on our roadmap.
The assessment is aligned with the Strengthened Quality Standards in force since 1 November 2025 under the Aged Care Act 2024. Questions reference current regulatory obligations including care minutes requirements, SIRS reporting, the new worker screening framework, and the ACFR. We update questions as regulatory requirements evolve.
The assessment is designed to be completed by one person with broad knowledge of the facility's operations — typically the Facility Manager, General Manager, or Quality and Compliance Manager. However, the same assessment can be accessed by multiple users in the same facility, and Smart Reassessment allows different team members to update specific sections as responsibilities change.
We recommend a full reassessment quarterly, with Smart Reassessment updates in between whenever something material changes — new hires, completed training, policy updates, audit outcomes. The assessment history tracks your progress over time so you can see improvement trends.
